Blockpop is a free browser block-stacking puzzle: falling pieces drop onto a 10x20 board, and you move, spin and slam them into place to complete full lines before the stack reaches the top. Built in plain HTML, CSS and JavaScript, it loads instantly and needs nothing installed.

How It Works

Slide pieces left and right, rotate them either way, and hard drop to slam one home. Clearing one line scores, but clearing four at once — a BLOCKPOP — scores far more, and chaining big clears back to back multiplies the lot. Hold a piece for later when it does not fit, watch the next five in the queue, and use the ghost outline to line up a drop exactly. Every ten lines bumps the level and the pieces fall faster, all the way to level 20.

What are the controls?
On desktop, arrow keys or WASD move and rotate, Space hard drops, C or E holds a piece, and Escape pauses. A gamepad works too. On touch, swipe to move, swipe down to drop and tap to rotate.
How does scoring work?
Points scale with the number of lines you clear at once, so a four-line BLOCKPOP is worth far more than four singles. Combos, back-to-back big clears, T-spins and perfect clears all add bonuses, and everything is multiplied by your current level.
How fast does the game get?
Every ten lines cleared raises the level and speeds the pieces up, through 20 levels in total.
Does Blockpop save my high score?
Your best score is stored locally in your browser. No account is needed and nothing is uploaded.
